Adult Courses
We provide a number of comprehensive year-round adult courses. Please choose from the list below for more information on each.
> (GE1) General English Evening Courses - Full time (20 hours per week)

> (GE121) One to One Tuition / (GE221) Two to One - Hours to be arranged with student
> (EC1) Exam Courses - Cambridge Exam Suite - Hours to be arranged with student
> Adult & junior english courses with student accommodation
Please note that WELC is closed on Bank Holidays and for two weeks over Christmas. Contact us for further details.
General English Courses (GE1)*
These courses are available all year around. Students are tested on arrival and placed in the class which best suits their level and needs. Twenty hours of tuition are provided per week. Students can join the course for as long as they need (from 1 week to 1 year). Over a longer period of time, students will tend to change class as they improve and progress through the levels of courses. A certificate of competence is provided to all students on completion of their course.

All year round.*
Classes start at 9am and finish at 1pm from Monday to Friday.

Beginner/Pre-Intermediate/Intermediate/Upper Intermediate/Advanced
Class placement;
A maximum of 8 students in a class, the average is usually 4.
Accommodation;
Students can be accommodated in host families, hotels, apartments or arrange their own lodgings if they wish. (Please see Places to Stay).

General English Evening Courses (GE2)*
These courses are available all year around. They are especially suitable for students who are working and wish to improve their English on a part-time basis in the evening. Students are tested on arrival and placed in the class which best suits their ability level. Four hours of tuition are provided per week. Students can join the course for as long as they wish (from 1 week to 1 year). Over a longer period of time, students will tend to change class as they improve and progress through the levels of courses. A certificate of competency is provided to all students on completion of their course.
Course dates and duration;
All Year round.
Every Monday and Wednesday/Tuesday and Thursday evening..
GE2 classes on Monday and Wednesday night are of one level. (e.g. Advanced on Mon and Wed)
GE2 classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights are of a different level. (e.g. Intermediate on Tues and Thurs).
Classes start at 6.15pm and finish at 8.15pm

* Please note that for students from outside the EU, study visas are only available for courses of 20hours a week or more

One to One Tuition (GE121)/Two to One (GE221)
These courses are available all year around. They are especially suitable for students who have a specific focus or who need English for a specific purpose. Students are tested and interviewed on arrival to ascertain how best to meet their requirements. Up to 20 hours of tuition can be provided per week. Students may arrange a course for as long as they wish (from 1 week to 1 year).

Exam Courses - Cambridge Exam Suite (EC1)
These courses are available all year around. They are designed to cover the various syllabi of the Cambridge Suite of Examinations and the IELTS test. Students are assessed and given guidance on how to approach their preparation for these examinations. Some exams are only available at certain times of the year and for any exam course, a great deal of work is required outside the classroom to ensure success. Up to 20 hours of tuition can be provided each week. Students may arrange a course for as long as they wish but for most exams at least three weeks (full-time) or 12 weeks(part-time) is advisable.

Full-time courses are 20 hours per week.
Part-time courses are 4 hours per week in the afternoon or evening.
